The Cisco GLC-LH-SMD is a 1000BASE-LX/LH SFP transceiver module
designed for long-distance Gigabit Ethernet connections over
single-mode fiber (SMF). Operating at a 1310 nm wavelength, it
supports transmission distances up to 10 kilometers on SMF and also
offers limited compatibility with multimode fiber (MMF) using a
mode-conditioning patch cable. Equipped with Digital Optical
Monitoring (DOM), the GLC-LH-SMD is ideal for enterprise backbones,
data centers, and metro access networks.
